Almost a decade of engineering motorcycle tourism in Medellin Colombia, We are the first and longest running motorcycle tour and rental operator in Medellin, we have now changed our destination specific name to a more broader name as we look to reinvent to all our renters. What happens if the bike(s) break down on the road?

If the bike breaks down on the road, you need to call us and we will handle it accordingly and the quickest way possible to get you back on the road as soon as possible. These bikes are in great conditon but they are motorcylces and sometimes things happen that are out of everyones control. But we do our best to handle the issue as fast as we can.

Can you take the Motos Off-road?

The bikes must stay on paved roads or dirt roads.

Do the bikes need to be dropped off at the same pickup location or could we return them in another city? (ie, Bogota, Cartagena, etc..)

We can drop off and pick up the moto or scooter at your Hotel for 50.000 COP inside the city of Medellin.

My understanding is in Colombia there is a mandatory insurance called SOAT and I’m curious if the fee for this coverage is included in the rental fee. Will we have paperwork to this effect we can carry with us and show to police in the event we’re pulled over/stopped for any reason.

All the bikes have Soat, it is a mandatory insurance here in Colombia. We do not have a fee for this coverage because it is mandatory for us to have them on all our motos. All the documentation needed in the case you get pulled over by the police or if you are involved in an accident are on the motos at all times.

What if I make a reservation and show up a day late to pick up the bike?

We will try to accommodate your change in rental dates and times as best as we can. All depends on upcoming reservations.

How long do you hold the deposit?

We hold the deposit for 4 business days after the motorcycle or scooter is returned. This allows us time to inspect the bike for any damages and allows time for any traffic violations to be received if any. On the 4th business day, our system auto releases the deposit.

If the bike gets damaged, what is the process?

The cost of damages are done in house at Medellin Sport Rentals on the day the Motorcycle or scooter is returned. Cost of Damages will be held from the deposit.

What documents do I need to rent and ride in Colombia?

Foreigners need a Valid passport, Drivers license (car or motorcycle), and a
Valid credit card with sufficient funds to cover the security deposit hold of $200.00 USD

What riding gear do I need?

All Rentals come with Helmets, Gloves, and Phone Holders. We do offer riding jackets for an extra charge.
We strongly recommend you bring your own helmet and riding gear for optimal comfort and safety. We also recommend that you use high touring boots and protective gear at all times while on the bike.

What happens if I return the rental bike late?

We have an extra hour charge for late returns depending on the motorcycle or scooter.

If you decide to keep the motorcycle longer than planed, please contact us as soon as possible to program the extension. We can not guarantee that extensions are available depending on other bookings, but we will try to accommodate you best we can.

What are the requirements to rent a Motorcycle?

You need a Credit Card, Passport (Foreigner), and Drivers License.

Do you give refunds for cancelations or early returns?

Medellín Sport Rentals has a strict cancelation policy. We do not offer refunds for cancellations or early returns.

Do you accept Credit Cards?

We do accept all major credit cards.
